Edward Blom's lavishly good mulled wine recipe:
Take a red wine of really good quality, add dark brown sugar, a lot of raisins, figs and classic mulled wine spices. Lace up the glory with a prime cognac. The sum of the cardamom (as well as cinnamon, cloves, ginger and orange) becomes a mulled wine that is winey, fiery, intense, maffy and cozy.
